Along with earache, the infection can cause fever, hearing loss and flu-like symptoms.
Ear pain is often found in children. Colds/fluids can cause earache.
We can overcome earache by using items present in our kitchen. Let’s find out how.
Home Remedies for Earache
- Garlic Garlic is a sure remedy for earache. Garlic, which is easily available in our homes, is effective against ear infections. Crush 2 cloves of garlic and boil it in 2 teaspoons mustard oil. After this mixture cools, apply 2 drops at a time two or three times in the painful ear. This reduces the infection and stops the ear pain. A similar mixture can be made with garlic and sesame oil. It is also very effective against earache.
- Basil It has been said in Ayurveda that Tulsa is very effective against many diseases. Tulsi is used in many Ayurvedic medicines.
Basil is also useful for earache. Extract the juice of tulsi leaves and strain it.
Put 2 to 3 drops of that juice in the painful ear. Also, if that juice is mixed with coconut oil and put in the ear, it is more useful. This is a very simple yet effective remedy for earache.
- Mustard oil Often earache starts due to accumulation of feces in the ear. At such times, it is dangerous to put hair pins, pencils, etc. in the ear as it can damage the eardrum. Also, ear buds can push the earwax in instead of coming out. Mustard oil is useful in stopping earache by removing earwax.
Put 2-3 drops of warm mustard oil in one ear and keep the oil lying on top without going deep inside. Due to this, the accumulated feces in the outer part of the ear comes out and the earache stops due to the cleaning of the ear.
But this remedy should be done carefully and with the intention of not harming the ear.
- Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It changes the pH balance of the ear creating an environment where no bacteria or fungus can survive in the ear. This reduces the intensity of the infection and reduces ear pain. Apple cider vinegar should be applied to the inside of the ear with a cotton ball or ear bud. Also keep that cotton or bud there for 5 minutes so the effect of apple cider vinegar reduces the ear infection and stops the ear pain.
- salt You might not believe it but salt is also an earache remedy. Heat some salt on low heat and dip an ear bud in it. Make sure that the whole bud absorbs the salt well and keep the bud in the affected ear for 10 minutes. Salt absorbs the moist fluid/water in the ear and reduces ear pain.
But this remedy should be done carefully. Also, never put salt water in the ear. Remove the bud by holding it on top of the ear. It is also a sure remedy for earache.
